PGA Championship 2022: You’ll never believe it, but the internet is losing its mind again over Tony Finau’s script | This is the loop

As you’ve probably heard, it’s a major weekend. The ground has been cleared. Time has turned. It’s time to go and that can only mean one thing:

Tony Finau’s Nike script is the talk of the town (Tulsa in this case).

Apparently, at every major tournament, Finau goes viral for his drip, with golf fashion cops teasing each other in the face about whether Finau’s fits are fresh or ugly. See Sweatergate for reference:

That proud tradition continued in Southern Hills on Saturday when Tony Finau showed up to the range on a cold, foggy morning dressed like the New York Botanical Garden.

The reaction from the Oklahoma gallery said it all.

Seconds after these images surfaced, the whiplash started in earnest.

It’s not fair to slander the selfless keyboard warriors who risk their lives and livelihoods to bravely share their catches with the internet without sharing ours, however. So where do we fall on the spectrum of love or hate? Somewhere between indifferent and pretty good. All-over floral prints are very 2016, but still, it’s better than another beige sweater.
