ITV’s Katie Rushworth works with Tong Garden Center

The wellness garden at a BRADFORD garden center has been revitalized with a seasonal planting program.

TV gardener Katie Rushworth visited the Tong Garden Center to refresh the garden she created in May.

Tong’s plant buyer Steve Smith worked with his network of growers to source the plants.

He said: “The Wellness Garden has been transformed from a tranquil lounging space into the perfect entertaining space that is teeming with an abundance of warm colors and textured foliage.

“The garden has been refreshed with bright colors that complement the planting all year round and it looks amazing. Pockets of Kniphofia, Rudbeckia, Helenium, and Echinacea show customers how easy it is to transform an existing border with seasonal refreshment.

The plants have been specially selected by Ms. Rushworth as her VIPs (Very Important Plants) and are available for purchase at the center.

Ms Rushworth, who works alongside Alan Titchmarsh on ITV’s “Love Your Garden” and “Love Your Home and Garden” is delighted with the new look of the garden.

She said: “I swapped the soft blues, pinks and lilacs for warm late summer colors and it looks awesome! Love a warm jazzy planting scheme!

“So if you want a garden that will lift your spirits and make you feel more resilient, then be sure to visit Tong for inspiration. It’s so nice to see people taking pictures and enjoying the space. . ”

The 16m2 space also includes an outdoor kitchen and a lounge area where guests are invited to immerse themselves in the garden.

A ‘snap and share’ contest has also been launched on social media for customers to win £ 50 worth of plants.

Tong Garden Center occupies a 19-acre site in Tong Village. It is one of the largest independent garden centers in Yorkshire with 125,000 square feet of retail space and parking for up to 700 cars.
