Kerrin Laz, winemaker and founder of K. LAZ Wine Collection, started Inspire Napa Valley in 2017 as someone directly affected by the devastation of Alzheimer’s disease – her beloved mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease early in 2014, at the age of 64. Laz knew she wanted to take action on behalf of the many people living with this complex and frightening disease, and Inspire Napa Valley has raised over $2.75 million to date in support of the Alzheimer’s Association.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown some curve balls at the annual fundraiser, 2022 sees the full return of one of Napa’s largest and most successful philanthropic events, with a weekend of wine from three days which will run from April 29 to May 1.
~ A Friday night VIP dinner at Opus One Winery, featuring a multi-course dinner paired with renowned vintages from the winery, Ray Isle, and will also include an update on Alzheimer’s Disease led by Maria Carrillo, Scientific Director of the Alzheimer’s Association.
~ A Saturday walking wine tasting showcasing dozens of the most exclusive wineries, followed by a quintessential wine country dinner, live auction and paddle lift in Yountville at domain.
~ A Sunday VIP Farewell Brunch hosted at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc + Addendum Garden will wrap up the weekend and feature Ad Hoc Fried Chicken and Waffles, Bouchon Pastries, Seasonal Dishes, and Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bars .
The Alzheimer’s Association is one of the world’s leading organizations that helps advance research to end Alzheimer’s disease and improve care and support services for everyone affected by the disease.
Laz says, “It means so much to me to bring this community together for a cause that is important to me and so many others. Although we may not be able to save my mother from Alzheimer’s disease, I hope that our efforts today will one day save others. And that’s why I’m more motivated than ever to raise awareness and funds to end Alzheimer’s disease and all other dementias.
