The shops at Skyview in Flushing are bringing back their beloved colorful Lunar New Year festivities on Saturday, January 29 from 1-4 p.m.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shops at Skyview did not hold the event in 2020 or 2021 out of safety and caution for the community, according to Rishika Mahtani, director of mall marketing for ShopCore Properties.
“We have again partnered with the Chinese Cultural Center of New York to host traditional lion dance performances and the Queens Botanical Garden will host cherry blossom crafts for children,” Mahtani said.
Select Skyview businesses will also distribute the coveted red envelopes to their customers. According to Mahtani, they plan to have a “Wishing Tree” for the community to write down New Year wishes and prosperous notes which will be displayed at the mall.
Skyview stores will also participate in the annual Flushing Lunar New Year Parade on Saturday, February 5.
“We are thrilled to be part of the parade this year and so excited to celebrate the start of the new year with our community! says Mahtani.
The Shops at Skyview is a multi-level shopping destination located on Level 4 near F21 Red. The center features a growing mix of national retailers and local favorites, including top brands such as Target, Uniqlo, SkyFoods, Marshalls and locals like Gong Cha and Royal Beauty.
