Barbara A. Lockerman, 85, of Warren, Pennsylvania, formerly of Washington, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on June 25, 2022, after a brief illness at the home of her son-in-law and daughter.

Barbara was born July 21, 1936 in Roxborough, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Doris V. Boyer.

She graduated in 1954 from Roxborough High School in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. She also attended Penn State University.

Barbara was a strong advocate for people with autism and other special needs. She organized an annual event held in Washington, Pennsylvania called “The Event,” for the benefit of people with special needs. Additionally, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by two daughters: Leslie Lockerman of Warren, Pennsylvania, and Andrea Stapleford, also of Warren, Pennsylvania; son-in-law, Fred Kylander; three grandchildren: Sarah Washek and her husband, Jake of Erie, Pennsylvania, Matthew Stapleford and his wife, Nikki of Sarver, Pennsylvania, and John Kylander of Warren, Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren: Kinley Stapleford and Lana Stapleford; and his sister, Judy Buehler of Warren, Pennsylvania.

A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
