When it comes to beautiful places in Arkansas, none quite compare to Garvan Woodland Gardens. Named one of the best botanical gardens in the country, the estate is stunning and offers everything from majestic landscapes to vibrant pieces of architecture and… waterfalls!
In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.
Located in Hot Springs, Garvan Woodland Gardens is the botanical garden of the University of Arkansas.
A peaceful retreat, the grounds span 210 acres and include several specialty gardens as well as some architectural gems, such as the Anthony Chapel and the Bob and Sunny Evans Treehouse.
There are plenty of other charming features too, including bridges, benches and, you guessed it, waterfalls!
The waterfalls, of variable size, are scattered throughout the gardens.
One of the most impressive falls is in the Garden of the Pine Wind, a 4-acre rock and stream garden.
In addition to a 12-foot waterfall, the Garden of the Pine Wind features three major waterfalls, two springs, four pools, and a ½-acre koi pond.
Falls enthusiasts will also want to check out the Millsap Canopy Bridge, a 120-foot pedestrian bridge that sits two stories above the forest floor.
The gently curving walkway meanders through a “wooded paradise,” comprised of pristine pools, waterfalls, and lush vegetation.
The idyllic beauty of Garvan Woodland Gardens doesn’t just make it a relaxing retreat. This also makes it a paradise for photography! So be sure to bring a camera on your visit.
